By using the controls for the Wii console as a performance instrument, I become a ‘WiiJ‘ instead of a ‘DJ‘. Being able to DJ with my own physical expression was the main focus while developing this software.
The software I developed consists of a Max/MSP patch which utilizes the custom made tim.wiiremote object which is basically an edited version of the aka.wiiremote object developed by Masayuki Akamatsu. To use the WiiGuitar I developed the WiiGuitarSampler, also developed using Max/MSP.
This software has been covered by various newspapers and TV stations like the Wall Street Journal (frontpage) , ARTE and VPRO to name but a few.
